Lindy Gaskill is an acrylic artist and was born in Seattle, Washington. She likes to surround herself with color because "it lifts [her] spirits and makes me happy. I know that color can affect one's mood and I know I feel good when I look at color."
She says that she likes working with acrylics because she can layer the paint and it provides a faster drying time. She also says that one of her methods is working under the faucet and run water over some of the patterned marks and rub some of it off which gives it more of an aged look. She says that she tries to layer and create depth with the acrylic paint.
She is inspired by nature and animals and whimsical things. She loves the idea that everything is connected and has energy, hence the numerous dots in her paintings and spirals that represent energy to her. As well as swirls and dots, she likes to sometimes create halos around her subjects which also gives them more energy.
